Yesteryear actors usually make comebacks on high-budget commercial masala films. But that is not the case with the talented Sridevi. Her decision to do the lead-role in a comedy film after 14 years of staying away from the big screen, speaks by itself the confidence she has as an actor. It’s all the more good news for us, the audience, with Amitabh Bachchan playing a cameo appearance in the movie. This movie is slated for release this September in both Hindi and Tamil versions.
The Tamil version will feature ‘Thala’ Ajith Kumar in the pivotal role instead of Amitabh. This is a promising combination, given the fact that this movie is being released right behind the heels of the Box-office Blockbuster, Billa II. The movie is directed by debutant Gauri Shinde and is produced by R.Balki.
The production team has been keeping the story of the movie under the sheets without providing any leaks of the plot whatsoever. However, it is now evident that in the movie Sridevi plays a house-wife who strives to learn English to please her hubby and in-laws. The comic events that follow constitute the movie. The movie has stirred up the expectations of many in a short notice. We hope it delivers what it seems to promise a lot; loads of laughter with a message.
