Innovation goes an extra step. As a part of their 100th year celebrations Seibu group would be upgrading Red trains with metallic silver exteriors that would mirror the passing landscape gelling the train with the environment rendering it invisible. Visualized by architect Kazuyo Sejima, the train would be operational by 2018. While the exteriors mirror the passing area, the interiors are designed to resemble a living room.  Says Seibu “The train will serve commuters, people seeking relaxation, and tourists drawn by its unique appearance.” Check out the conceptualized video of the invisible train.
