Wow!!! Another terrific match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday night, the Mumbai Indians thrashed Delhi Daredevils by 14 runs win and stay top in the points table. Absolute terrific performances from the Mumbai Indians bowlers reduced Delhi Daredevils for 24/6 at one stage.

Once MI opted to bat, there was a complete collapse of first four down where Jos Butler managed to get 28 runs. Later Pollard and Pandya’s brothers put some scores on the board and they complete the innings with 142/8 in 20 overs. Amit Mishra & Pat Cummins of Delhi bowled an impressive spell and took 2 wickets each.

Following the achievable target of 143, the MI gave a complete shock to the visitor and they performed with the ball this time. Yes, Delhi batsmen can’t able to score runs and fallen shortly to MI bowlers. At one stage, they were 24/6 in 6.3 overs. But do you believe they lost the match only by 14 runs? Yes, the fightback innings of 91 runs stand from Rabada (44 runs) and Morris (52*runs) saved the team but it went in vain as MI secured a thrilling win to go on top of the table.

The three key bowlers are responsible for this victory McClenaghan (3 wickets), Bumrah (2 wickets) & Hardik Pandya (1 wicket). Let’s see some important highlights of the match.

  1. Buttler (MI) scored 28 runs from 18 balls (2 sixes, 3 boundaries) helped the team to put some decent score on the board.
  2. Pollard (26 runs from 29 balls), Krunal Pandya (17 runs from 16 balls) & Hardik Pandya (24 runs from 23 balls) innings managed to set the target of 143 to the visitors.
  3. Amit Mishra remarkable spell of 4 overs 18 runs and 2 wickets really stifled the scoring rate and at one point.
  4. Pat Cummins joins with Mishra who also bowled very well and took 2 wickets for 20 runs from 4 overs.
  5. Rabada 44 runs from 39 balls (1 six, 4 boundaries) and Morris 52* from 41 balls (1 six, 5 boundaries) brought Delhi brought from dead.
  6. MJ McClenaghan was awarded man of the match for his excellent bowling attack 4 overs 24 runs and took 3 important wickets.
  7. Bumrah was too good with the ball again (4 overs 21 runs and 2 wickets) continuing his form in this IPL 2017.
