It’s the doubleheader Saturday and we have got two big matches. The Fourth match of the IPL 2017 was between
Kings XI Punjab and Rising Pune Supergiants. Unlike the initial three matches, this game hasn’t been a high scoring
180+ games. Maybe it would have been 180+ if RPS batsmen have shown a good show but they didn’t.
Batting first RPS managed to get only 163/6 in the first twenty overs. The interesting thing is Dinda was in the playing eleven even after going for plenty in the first match. Finally, the KXIP co-owned by pretty Preity Zinta was all smiles as their team got over the line chasing the target comfortably with an over to spare.
Last year we had a controversy of water drought in major cities of the nation. For this season, we predict the controversy topic will be Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Because the cool head captain lost his shine and it clearly came out on his performance of the first two matches.
Steve Smith saved him when he was struggling to score big to chase the target in the last over. In today’s match, he managed to get only 5(11 balls) runs and got out cheaply caught & bowled. Fingers crossed until whether Steven Smith takes the harsh decision in the next match or accepting the fact he is at least a better wicketkeeper.
The next big failure of RPS team is Mayank Agarwal who as a ditto to dhoni failed in both their two outings till now.
This time he was bowled straight back by perfect swing bowling by Sandeep Sharma. Agarwal getting out in the first
over set things back to RPS and scoring runs become hard at that point of time. Later they did manage to put a decent total of 163 for the loss of six wickets, where Ben Stokes 50(32) and M Tiwary 40(23) shown their brilliance
by lifting somehow.
Then came the Punjab in the second innings looking to chase the target in their first match of the IPL 10th edition.
Hasim Amla and Manan Vohra began their innings quite as usual as they would and the later gone for 14 runs off 9 balls. Imran Tahir picked up two crucial wickets until Maxwell hit him for consecutive two sixes alongside David Miller. The Maxwell & Miller took the team home comfortably by building a steady partnership which brightens up the cheeks of Preity Zinta. It highly unlikely one who would guess her age correctly as she is 42 now.
1. Manoj Tiwary scored a quick 40 runs in just 23 balls by hitting the odd fours and sixes.
2. Ben Stokes the 25-year-old English man registered his first fifty of the season in 32 balls.
3. Daniel Christian (for RPS) smashed fours and sixes of the last over much like Hardik Pandya did for Mumbai a couple of days ago.
4. Sandeep Sharma picked two wickets and gave away 33 runs in his four overs quota.
5. Maxwell scored a quick 44 off just 20 balls smashing 4 sixes and 2 fours.
Take a look at Maxwell power hitting down the ground, here is the video.
