Chinese technology firm Xiaomi announced its new phablet Mi Max at an event in Beijing. The 6.44-inch display phone powered by 4850mAh battery comes with an all-metal body and is ultra-slim (7.5 mm thickness) and weighs 203 grams. Equipped with a 16 MB rear camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and 5MB front camera with wide-angle support for selfies.
The phone will have 3 versions. The base model will have 3GB Ram and 32GB storage running on Qualcomm 650 hexa-core processor priced at 1499 Yuan (Rs 15,330 approx.) while the mid version runs on Qualcomm snapdragon 652 quad core processor with 64GB storage and 3GB Ram priced at 1699 Yuan (Rs 17,375 approx.). The high end version consists of 4GB Ram and 128GB storage with Qualcomm 652 quad core processor priced at 1999 Yuan (Rs 20,400 approx.).
Additionally, the Mi Max is fitted infra-red sensor which allows the phone to act as remote for TV, AC etc. The all-metal body will come in three colors Gold, Silver & Dark Grey. The phone will have MIUI8 interface and a fingerprint sensor. All the versions are dual-SIM enabled with 4G-LTE and micro-SD support. The phone will be initially launched in China while its launch in other countries is yet to be announced.
