There are some defined ways to select multiple files or folders in a drive.

How to select files and folders

Step1: Open the drive that contains files or folders.

Step2: Select files or folders using any of these methods give below. Likely it’s based on you requirement.

Method 1: To select a consecutive group of files or folders, click or select the file or folder which you want to start the select. Press the shift key and then click the last files or folders which you want to select. Items will be selected in columns and not in rows.

Another way to accomplish this need with using keyboard is, keep your mouse at the border of the file or folder that you want to select, click and drag your mouse to the bottom border of the other file or folder which you want to select (CTRL+Shift+Mouse Click).

Method 2: To select nonconsecutive files or folders, click or select the file or folder which you want to start the select. Press the CTRL key and then click file or folder that you want to select (CTRL+Mouse click).

Method 3: To select all files or folder in a drive press CTRL+A.

If you want to deselect any of the file or folder which selected using any of the method mentioned about?

Just press you CTRL key and select the file or folder that you wanted to deselect.
