MATCH 38 – MI vs RCB – Rohit Fierce Chase and RCB Tough Luck Continues

Royal Challengers Bangalore are in a hectic situation in this IPL 2017 and here they faced another loss at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai against Mumbai Indians. We can see terrific performances of MI in this IPL and they registered their eighth win and they moved to the top of IPL 2017 standings.

Followed by the poor performances of the batting order in previous matches, this time they put some score on the board but not up to that mark. AB de Villiers steady innings of 43 runs and Pawan Negi crucial innings of 35 runs helped RCB to set the target of 163 in 20 overs.



MJ McClenaghan (MI) spell of 34/3 and Krunal Pandya spell of 34/2 restricted RCB to 162 runs. Mumbai also continued their own innings in the same vein as RCB, losing wickets at regular intervals, but captain Rohit Sharma came in to stabilize the innings, after Nitish Rana (27 runs) and Jos Butler (33 runs) game them a good start. Rohit Sharma excellent half-century knock helped him to prove his game who is constantly looking for this opportunity.

Pawan Negi also impressed the visitor with the ball and Choudhary, YS Chahal took one wicket of each for his side. Let’s see some important highlights of the match.

  1. Virat Kohli started well but gone to pavilion quickly for 20 runs in 14 balls with 2 sixes.
  2. AB de Villiers came back strongly in this match and scored 43 runs of 27 balls (3 sixes, 3 boundaries).
  3. KM Jadhav 28 runs in 22 balls and Pawan Negi showed some fireworks in final overs scored 35 runs in 23 balls with 3 sixes and a boundary managed their team to finish it for 162/8.
  4. MJ McClenaghan bowling attack is extraordinary in this IPL and he continues in this match with the spell of 4 overs 34 runs and 3 wickets.
  5. Krunal Pandya, the perfect all-rounder shown his bowling performance with the spell of 4 overs 34 runs and 2 wickets.
  6. Jos Butler (33 runs from 21 balls) & Nitish Rana (27 runs from 28 balls) hold the team in the middle and Rohit Sharma blown out with the massive innings of unbeaten 56 runs from 37 balls thrashed RCB and they chased comfortably.
