Prepare a Summer Holiday Family Trip – Travel Checklist

To make your family trip a success, prepare a checklist so that everything goes smoothly without any issues. The following are the list of items which will help you in making a checklist. First and foremost, make sure the necessary tickets for train, plane or bus are booked and add it in a checklist so that you will take the tickets without fail. If you are traveling abroad, make sure you take the passport, visa with you. A wallet is important which you shouldn’t forget to take for your trip. Ensure you have your cards in your wallet. If you need cash on hand, you can make sure to take the required amount from the ATM. Decide on the place where you are going to stay and make sure you take the booking bill while you travel. If you are going on a hike or trekking trip with your family this summer, you can take a tent, sleeping bags, mat, pillowsetc., If you plan for a camp house in hills area, you just need to plan some safety precaution and it is mandatory to have matchbox or some instant lights for emergency. You can plan to buy safety matches or better get match boxes wholesale from the exporters before your travel ideas.

If you are traveling by car, add your driving license in the checklist. If you are taking your own car, make sure the papers (Vehicle Registration, Insurance) are kept in your car and fill your fuel tank with the required quantity. Good Music is a must while traveling, so take the songs of your interests in devices like mobile phone, pen drive, CD drive etc., If the music player in your car is Bluetooth compatible then you can stream songs online with the mobile apps available. Take your digital camera or mobile phones for capturing images. Take the chargers for the electronic items which you are going to use in the trip.


Make sure to take your trip itinerary and the necessary maps with you to have a safe and time-saving trip. Google maps provide offline map feature so you can download the necessary place maps in your device so that you can view them even without internet facility. You can take some water bottles with you and if you plan on cooking on the trip then make sure you take the necessary equipment like portable stove/grill, pans, and utensils.

Make sure the clothing items for your family are packed for the trip. If you are going to hill stations or cold climate regions, take the sweaters, jumper, cardigan as required for your family. Take some towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, makeup kit, hair brushes, soaps, face wash, shampoo, conditioners, moisturizers, sanitary napkins and your other daily essential items in a separate backpack. If you have a small kid, take some wet wipes, nappies, nappy cream, baby water sipper, strollers if required. Take an extra bag for keeping the dirty laundry.

If any of your family members take medication, make sure to pack them for your trip. Pack the contact lenses, glasses of your family members if any. You can take sunglasses as well. For keeping your family members entertained, you can take some playing cards, board games etc.,
